Amogus meme template

Amogus is a meme format on WhatiMeme. Used as a blank reaction or punchline image for “sus,” impostor, or absurdist internet jokes. The grinning face stands in for something that looks friendly but feels off, for calling out suspicious behavior, or for pure nonsense “amogus” humor.

A glossy red, bean-shaped Among Us-style crewmate centered on a plain white background. Its large teal visor is shaped like a wide open mouth with a row of white teeth and a dark red interior, creating a fixed grin. Short stubby legs are visible at the bottom; no arms or other details appear.

How to write this meme

Write a short real-life setup on top, then let the bottom line be the blunt or slightly unhinged label the grin “says.” Keep both lines punchy; the face does most of the emotional work.

Caption zones

  • Top text — Sets up the situation, observation, or premise the viewer is meant to map onto the grinning figure
  • Bottom text — Delivers the punchline, label, or twist that the Amogus face “reacts” to or embodies

Example captions

  • Top text: When the group chat goes silent
  • Bottom text: After you send a risky joke

The frozen grin sells the awkward “everyone saw it and no one is typing” energy.

  • Top text: Me explaining why I’m still awake at 3 a.m.
  • Bottom text: Just one more video

The overconfident smile matches the weak excuse perfectly.

  • Top text: The “quick question” from your boss
  • Bottom text: On a Friday at 4:59

Turns ordinary workplace dread into a sus impostor moment.

  • Top text: When someone says “we need to talk”
  • Bottom text: And you’re 90% sure it’s fine

The teethy grin undercuts the forced calm and heightens the anxiety.

  • Top text: My brain at 2 a.m. inventing new worries
  • Bottom text: About a conversation from 2017

Absurdist overconfidence of the face matches the brain’s unhelpful confidence in old regrets.

Common mistakes

  • Over-explaining the joke in long sentences
  • Ignoring the uncanny grin and writing wholesome text that fights the image
  • Using only one line when the contrast of setup/punchline is stronger
  • Making both lines nearly identical in meaning
  • Forcing Among Us lore instead of everyday “sus” situations
