How to write this meme
Pick a concrete, recognizable letdown. Put the setup in Top text and the sting or ironic detail in Bottom text. Keep both short so the face stays the focus.
Caption zones
- Top text — Sets up the situation, loss, or failure that triggers the tears
- Bottom text — Delivers the punchline, specific outcome, or ironic detail

- Bottom text: After “just one” food delivery

- Top text: When the Wi-Fi dies
- Bottom text: During the final boss cutscene
Gamers instantly feel the specific pain; contrast between epic moment and sudden failure is funny.
- Top text: Hired the “cheap” contractor
- Bottom text: Now my ceiling has a skylight
Escalates a bad decision into absurd physical comedy while the face sells pure regret.
- Top text: Told myself I’d sleep early
- Bottom text: It’s 3 a.m. and I’m on slide 47 of unrelated Wikipedia
Self-deprecating procrastination humor; the solemn tears mock a very ordinary failure of willpower.
Common mistakes
- Being too vague (“bad day”) instead of specific
- Writing long paragraphs that cover the face
- Using it for genuine tragedy where the joke tone feels wrong
- Forgetting the bottom punchline so it reads as plain sadness
- Overloading both regions with the same idea
