How to write this meme
Pick a situation where laughing is socially risky, then pair it with a tiny, specific trigger. Let the face do the heavy lifting—keep both lines short and concrete.
Caption zones
- Top text — Sets up the serious, awkward, or forbidden situation that makes laughing wrong
- Bottom text — States the internal struggle or the thing that is actually funny
Example captions
- Top text: Funeral eulogy
- Bottom text: Someone's phone starts playing a vine
Extreme contrast between solemn setting and absurd interruption makes the strained face perfect.
- Top text: Teacher asks who farted
- Bottom text: It was me and I know it
Classic childhood guilt mixed with the face's pure physical comedy.
- Top text: Girlfriend says "we need to talk"
- Bottom text: Remembering the meme I sent her at 3am
Relationship anxiety plus self-aware regret lands cleanly on the expression.
- Top text: Serious family dinner
- Bottom text: Cousin brings up the group chat drama
Everyone knows the terror of suppressed laughter at the table; the face amplifies it.
Common mistakes
- Writing long paragraphs instead of punchy lines
- Making both captions describe the face instead of the situation
- Using a setup that isn't actually forbidden or awkward
- Forgetting the contrast between "should be serious" and "can't stop laughing"
