A yellow rectangular sponge character (SpongeBob) stands indoors on a green floor against blue walls with a window. He has a distorted, mocking facial expression with crossed eyes, a long pointed nose, open mouth, and one hand raised near his head while the other is held out; he wears a white shirt, brown shorts, red tie, white socks, and black shoes.

How to write this meme

Pick a real phrase people actually say that feels pretentious, hypocritical, or overly dramatic, put it cleanly on top, then copy it almost verbatim on the bottom using strict alternating caps; keep both lines short so the mockery hits instantly.

Caption zones

  • Top text — The original serious or earnest statement being mocked
  • Bottom text — The same statement repeated in mocking alternating-capitalization style

Example captions

  • Top text: I only check my phone once an hour
  • Bottom text: i OnLy ChEcK mY pHoNe OnCe An HoUr

Exposes the common lie people tell about phone habits by turning it into pure mockery.

  • Top text: It’s not that deep
  • Bottom text: iT’s NoT tHaT dEeP

Calls out dismissive comments that shut down valid feelings or analysis.

  • Top text: I’ll start my diet tomorrow for real this time
  • Bottom text: i’Ll StArT mY dIeT tOmOrRoW fOr ReAl ThIs TiMe

Mocks the endless cycle of empty self-promises everyone recognizes.

  • Top text: We should hang out soon
  • Bottom text: wE sHoUlD hAnG oUt SoOn

Highlights the empty social nicety that rarely turns into actual plans.

  • Top text: I’m not mad I’m just disappointed
  • Bottom text: i’M nOt MaD i’M jUsT dIsApPoInTeD

Turns the classic parental guilt trip into something ridiculous and powerless.

Common mistakes

  • Making the bottom text a totally different sentence instead of a mock-repeat
  • Using random capitalization instead of clean aLtErNaTiNg pattern
  • Choosing statements that are already jokes so there’s nothing left to mock
  • Writing walls of text that cover the character’s face
  • Forgetting that the humor comes from contemptuous imitation, not explanation
