How to write this meme
Write a short setup that implies you got away with something or know something others don’t, then let the face sell the smug payoff. Keep both lines punchy and specific.
Caption zones
- Top text — Sets up the situation or context that leads to the smug reaction
- Bottom text — Delivers the punchline, the sneaky win, or the reason for the smug look
Example captions
- Top text: Me after saying “I’ll only watch one episode”
- Bottom text: It’s 3 a.m. and I’m still going
Relatable self-aware hypocrisy paired with the unapologetic grin.
- Top text: Group project where I did nothing
- Bottom text: Still got the A
Classic freeloader smugness that people love to joke about (or confess).
- Top text: When the spoiler was wrong
- Bottom text: And I still acted shocked

- Top text: Told them I cooked it myself
- Bottom text: It was DoorDash

Common mistakes
- Making the caption purely wholesome with no edge
- Writing long paragraphs that cover the face
- Using pure anger or sadness instead of quiet satisfaction
- Forgetting the “I won / I know something” angle
- Over-explaining the joke in the text
