- Top text: I'll pay you back Friday
- Bottom text: Bitch please
The promise is a familiar stall, and the laugh treats repayment as fiction.

How to write this meme
Put the other person’s dubious line on top and your scoff underneath. Keep both lines short. The face already means “that is hilarious and false,” so the bottom text should sound like a dismissal, not an explanation.
Caption zones
- Top text — States the claim, brag, excuse, or promise being scoffed at
- Bottom text — Delivers the short dismissive retort
Example captions
- Top text: I read the whole article
- Bottom text: You read the headline
The bottom line exposes the claim instead of merely denying it, matching the smug grin.
- Top text: Traffic was really bad
- Bottom text: You left twenty minutes late
It rejects a stock excuse with a specific, believable correction.
- Top text: I'm basically fluent
- Bottom text: You know three phrases
The tiny number pops the exaggeration; the face is already laughing at the brag.
- Top text: We should hang out soon
- Bottom text: Translation: never
It decodes a polite brush-off, which is exactly the “I see through that” energy of the laugh.
Common mistakes
- Using sincere, wholesome, or excited captions
- Making the bottom line agree with the top
- Writing a paragraph instead of a short retort
- Explaining the joke in the caption
- Treating the laugh as genuine joy rather than a scoff
