Flying Tesla Roadster meme template

Flying Tesla Roadster is a meme format on WhatiMeme. The picture stands in for an absurdly overpowered reaction. A small, ordinary trigger is answered with a full rocket launch: dramatic exits, unnecessary flexes, and solutions that use maximum thrust for a tiny problem.

A white, sharply angular car hovers at night above a dark road. Four bright blue thruster jets fire straight down from the underside, feeding a huge cloud of white and pink-lit smoke. A thin red light streak crosses the left background. The sky above the car is almost entirely black.

How to write this meme

Let the picture supply the drama. Put a small, specific trigger on top and a much bigger reaction on the bottom. If the bottom line is not more extreme than the top line, the thrusters have nothing to do.

Caption zones

  • Top text — Names the small, ordinary trigger. Stays in the black sky so the car and its thrusters stay visible.
  • Bottom text — Delivers the oversized reaction. Sits on the dark road below the smoke so the car, the thrusters, and the smoke cloud stay visible.

Example captions

  • Top text: Me leaving the group chat
  • Bottom text: After one dry "ok"

A tiny social slight is met with a full launch, so the jets do the exaggerating.

  • Top text: Fixing a one-line bug
  • Bottom text: Rewriting the whole app

The thrusters match the familiar urge to solve a small problem with maximum engineering.

  • Top text: They called my idea interesting
  • Bottom text: Keynote, merch, liftoff

Mild feedback is misread as a green light, and the hover sells the delusion.

  • Top text: Song hits the drop
  • Bottom text: Emotional afterburners on

The blue jets visualize a sudden rush everyone already recognizes.

  • Top text: I'll have one coffee
  • Bottom text: Already above the clouds

Caffeine as rocket fuel is a simple overshoot, and the hovering car makes the overshoot literal.

Common mistakes

  • Writing a caption that only describes the car or the smoke
  • Making both lines the same level of intensity
  • Using a wholesome or calm punchline the rockets cannot support
  • Bottom text so long it disappears into the smoke
  • Explaining the joke instead of stating the trigger and the overreaction
