A black-and-white four-panel comic split by thick lines into a two-by-two grid. The top-left and bottom-left panels are empty white. In the top-right panel, a bald stick-figure man sits in a chair at a table with a bowl of cereal and a spoon. His eyebrows angle down, his mouth is open, one arm sticks out, and the other rests by the table. In the bottom-right panel, the same man leans forward; his eyes are wide and shifted sideways, and a spray of cereal shoots from his open mouth toward the left.

How to write this meme

Write two short spoken lines. The top line should sound fine on its own. The bottom line should be the exact words that would make someone choke. If you cannot picture milk coming out of a nose, the second line is not strong enough yet.

Caption zones

  • Top-left text — The straight first line, filling the blank top-left panel. Do not cross onto the man or the cereal bowl.
  • Bottom-left text — The spit-take reveal, filling the blank bottom-left panel. The man, the spray, and the bowl stay in the right panel.

Example captions

  • Top-left text: Breakfast is ready
  • Bottom-left text: I rinsed the bowl in the dog's water

A caring offer flips into a hygiene disaster, so the spray of cereal feels like the only honest response.

  • Top-left text: I handled the group chat
  • Bottom-left text: I replied all with my search history

A responsible update escalates into a social catastrophe. The second line is the exact moment milk should leave the mouth.

  • Top-left text: Your secret is safe with me
  • Bottom-left text: I posted it as a poll first

Reassurance is instantly betrayed. The contrast between the promise and the poll is the whole joke.

  • Top-left text: I meal-prepped for both of us
  • Bottom-left text: Every container is just dry cereal

Domestic competence collapses into lazy absurdity, and the cereal already on the table makes the punchline land harder.

  • Top-left text: The interview went great
  • Bottom-left text: I called the CEO "Dad" twice

A victory claim is undercut by a mortifying detail. The spit-take reads as the memory hitting him mid-bite.

Common mistakes

  • Putting the shock in the top panel and a weak line underneath
  • Making both lines equally wild so there is no escalation
  • Explaining the joke instead of stating the two lines
  • Writing so much text that it spills onto the character
  • Using a mild second line that nobody would spit at
  • Captioning the right-hand drawings instead of the blank panels
